Form Follows Function

...Form Follows Function, Function Follows Form.....
Short form = 3F =)

First come to my mind ,without each others, the final works should not be work well because function need forms. So to understand what means is this, i do some research about Form and function. Form refers to the shape, visual appearance or configuration of an ob
ject. Function also called a functor, functional or functionoid, is a computer programming construct allowing an object to be invoked or called as though it were an ordinaryfunction.

After i read the brief, i got a conclusion which is form is something that have shape that we can touch and see. Function to activate the form to work. Function needs form in order to accomplish its goal. Form without function is just a pretty piece of paper. So as i know, a have a form should be have a function too. For designer views, Form can consider as print ads, function can be a computer works like flash and website which can move. So to make it more interesting, a form should be combine with function in order to make the design look interesting.

My another point of view, form cannot bring the message to people same as function too. But after combine this two, it's become meaningful. Just take it for example, a Nike shoes poster. So for the first view we know it is a shoes but we dunno about others if there are no information. But then if we add on some effect like the shoes moving and sound effect, people will straight get the message that the shoes is powerful bla bla bla. So as a designer like us, we need to know it well.

Here is the example that i wanna show what means is form follows function :

With off, the light switch hook from Die electric, form follows function and then some. OFF is a fully functional light switch that doubles as a place to hang essentials when in the OFF position – prompting the user to choose to save electricity. The clever little gadget not only takes some significant kWhs off of the meter, but serves as a subtle reminder to turn off the lights – while solving the age old “where are my keys?” quandary on a daily basis.
